Naturopathy is a form of complementary medicine that focuses on maintaining harmony in the body. It tries to bring your mind, body and spirit into homeostasis - a natural process the human body tries to do all the time. When the body cannot achieve homeostasis by itself, something has caused havoc on the body. It is my job to get to the ‘root’ or cause of the issue, so the body can enter harmony again.

Naturopaths use scientific evidence (this means when I prescribe to you I look at relevant clinical testing & studies). Where this isn’t possible traditional evidence is utilised (natural practices being conduced since olden days that have been passed down from one generation to another or through traditional literature).

Naturopaths have principles they must abide by:

  1. The healing power of nature

  2. First do no harm

  3. Find and treat the cause, wherever possible

  4. Treat the whole person

  5. Educate the patient

  6. Prevent future disease

Each and every body is different, which is why I treat the whole individual rather then just the symptoms. There is no one size fits all treatment, every plan is unique to the individual sitting in front of me.

Naturopaths also can work along side your GP or other health professional, to ensure you are given the best possible care throughout your health journey.
